Hello,
St John’s Church is completely committed to sharing the gospel with the young people in Folkestone.
Our desire is that every young person knows that they are uniquely created by God (Genesis 1:27), valued by God (Psalm 139) and loved by God (Romans 5:8).
If you are in secondary school or you are the parent or guardian of someone who is we would love to hear from you.
Below you will find the calendar of the upcoming things that are going on, and directly below you will find the list of the regular stuff that happens.
The Bridge: Twice a month on Sundays at 10am during the morning service for school year 7. We leave for just part of the service to have an age appropriate bible reading and discussion and prayer before rejoining the rest of the service. We also have snacks!
Sunday Night Youth: Weekly on Sunday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm for school year’s 7 to 13. A chilled time of singing, learning from the bible, eating snacks, playing games and spending time together in a relaxed environment.
Sunday Night Worship: Youth led service for everyone on 1st Sunday of the month in the evening at 6pm.
Young Life Group: Twice a month on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm for school year’s 12 & 13. A time where we eat together, read the Bible, discuss questions that affect our lives and grow together.
Brew & Bite: Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm to 6:00pm in term time for school year’s 7 to 13. It’s a quiet space to study, prepare for exams and get homework done while being supplied with freshly baked stuff and hot drinks. There are also several on hand if you need to chat about something.
Please use the get in touch to send us a message.
We are really looking forward to meeting you.
Spring 2026 Update
So here we go, the last term of the school year. We just thought it would be helpful to give you an idea of what is happening.
Richard’s time as youth minister is coming to a close. He will be finishing his time at St John’s Church in mid-June ready to be ordained in early July and start his curacy in Maidstone. This will require Richard, Jo & Elijah moving to Maidstone.
You may have seen an advert go out as St John’s looks for someone to continue the work of children’s and youth ministry at St John’s Church.
The link to the advert can be found on the homepage of the St John’s Church website at stjf.church.
In this season of change we want to make the transition as smooth and gentle as possible. Adam and Tim will be leading the youth ministry team in the interim with the hope that there will be someone recruited and ready to take up the youth and children’s ministry at some point over the summer. This is something we would love you to join us in praying for wisdom and good discernment as the right person is sought and appointed. God already knows who that will be, so we seek to do God’s will and obey God’s leading in this.
As always, we would love to hear from you so do please get in touch
Yours,
The St John’s Church Youth Ministry Team
